ROG Phone 6 Has Launched, Bring More Extraordinary Specification

VIVA – Republic of Gamers (ROG) officially launched its newest smartphone series namely ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro on Tuesday night, July 5, 2022. ROG claims this smartphone offers balanced specifications, even being able to beat laptop and PC or desktop specifications.

"This smartphone offers extraordinary specifications that can match or even beat a laptop or PC," Asus Director of Technical Marketing, Sascha Krohn said at the launch of the ROG Phone 6.

Here are the specifications offered by ROG Phone 6:

Design

ROG Phone 6 comes with a futuristic sci-fi design with two color choices for the regular version of the ROG Phone 6, storm white and phantom black. Meanwhile, the ROG Phone 6 Pro comes exclusively in one color, namely Storm White.

The ROG phone 6 pro series is equipped with ROG vision that will light up according to six different scenarios, such as when charging, incoming calls, playing games, and other information systems.

Meanwhile, on the back of the ROG phone 6, there is an aura of RGB LED logo on the center of the back of the phone which further adds to the futuristic impression of this smartphone.

This smartphone is equipped with two USB-C battery charging ports which are under and on the side of the phone body. In addition, there is also an HDMI port that allows this smartphone to be connected to larger screens such as TVs and projector screen.

The ROG Phone 6 series smartphone is armed with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with 4nm fabrication with 3.2 GHz CPU core capabilities and ROG Phone 6 will be supported with 12/16GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 16GB for ROG Phone 6 Pro.

Meanwhile, this chipset is capable of maximizing power efficiency by up to 30 percent when compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

Regarding the operating software, the ROG Phone 6 series also uses Android 12 OS with ROG UI and Zen UI.

ROG Phone 6 has a very large battery capacity, which is 6000 mAh with a hyper charge adapter reaching 65 watts.

This Smartphone also has ROG's latest cooling technology, Gamecool 6 with a vapor chamber that is 30% larger than the previous series. Thus, it can spread heat more quickly.

Meanwhile, Gamecool 6 technology can divide cooling scenarios into three scenarios. Starting from short time gaming for 15 minutes of gaming, mid time gaming for 30 minutes, and longtime gaming for more than 1 hour of gaming.

This smartphone can also be embedded with the addition of Aeroactive Cooler 6 with an ergonomic design on the back of the smartphone, this addition can improve the performance of the cooling system on this smartphone later.

In terms of cameras, ASUS presents this smartphone by using the main lens from the Sony IMX766 sensor with 50MP capability. Not only that, this smartphone also consists of a 13MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP macro. While for selfies, the front camera of this phone is also equipped with a 12MP camera.

The screens of the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro are supported by a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED with adjustable refresh rates ranging from 60,90,120,144, to 165 Hz. In addition, the Always on Display (AOD) HDR feature also colors this latest ROG gaming smartphone.

For gaming activities, ROG presents two ultrasonic buttons that can be used with 9 different ones that can be customized by users. In addition, it also presents X-Haptic Vibration Technology capable of producing vibration frequencies up to 130 Hz and can increase power efficiency by up to 20%.

ROG also introduced an edge tool that can display the user's favorite applications on the side of the screen when used to play games without having to exit the game. For example, replying to a Whatsapp message.

Meanwhile, there are two variants on the regular version of the ROG Phone 6 with different storage capacities. First, 12GB RAM / 256GB ROM has price at 999 Euros or Rp15 million and for 16GB RAM / 512GB ROM has price at 1,149 Euros or Rp17 million.

Then, for the ROG Phone 6 Pro version comes with only one storage capacity option, namely 18GB RAM / 512GB ROM has price at 1,299 Euros or around Rp 20 million.
