Joko Widodo as the Indonesian President who leads the 2022 G20, will arrive in the Russian capital on Thursday for talks with his Russian counterpart, President Vladimir Putin.

Indonesia holds the G20 presidency, and it is in this region of the country that the summit will be held in November later.

Since the Russia-Ukraine war is still in progress, Indonesia has always been in the spotlight for holding the G20 Presidency this year. A number of G20 members such as the United States, Australia and the European Union have even urged Indonesia to boycott Russia's participation in the forum.

The US even threatened not to attend the G20 series this year if the Russian delegation, especially President Vladimir Putin, still took part in the summit which will take place in October. Even so, Indonesia is still trying to invite all members of the G20, including Russia, to the summit in Bali later.

Indonesian President Jokowi will also make visits to Ukraine and Russia to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky and President Putin after attending the G7 summit in Germany. Jokowi will bring a peace agenda to the two countries that are still at war.
