Jokowi Receives Visit from Australia's New PM

VIVA – The President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo received the arrival of Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese and his delegation on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Bogor Palace, West Java. There was an official welcoming ceremony for the Australian Prime Minister which started around 10 am.
A number of activities will be carried out starting from welcoming arrivals to the Bogor Presidential Palace. Then continued with the official welcoming ceremony and continued with the introduction of the delegates who attended from both countries.
As known, President Jokowi and Albanese have met each other before, but this Monday was their first face-to-face encounter as peers. As he entered the grounds of the Bogor Palace, Albanese looked like he was happy at the moment.
So, after a series of welcoming events, the two leaders of the two countries will have a photo session together and sign a guest book.
After that, they planted a tree together in the backyard of the Bogor Presidential Palace. The series of events continued with face-to-face meetings at Resto rasa Bogor Botanical Gardens.
After the face-to-face meeting, Jokowi and Albanese and a number of delegates from the two countries will hold a bilateral meeting at the Bogor Presidential Palace.
Then, the leaders of the two countries will give a press statement then the official meeting of the two leaders of this country will be closed with a luncheon.
As known, Anthony Albanese is the 31st Prime Minister of Australia. Anthony was elected on May 21, 2022 and sworn in on May 23, 2022.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's official visit to Indonesia was the first official visit since he was inaugurated and two weeks to be an Australian Prime Minister. A number of strategic issues between the two countries will become an important discussion for Jokowi and Albanese today.
According to the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube live broadcast, Jokowi invited PM Albanese to ride a 1-kilometer bicycle from the Bogor Palace to the Bogor Botanical Gardens to visit the Rasa Restaurant, which will be the meeting place for the two leaders of the two countries.
When cycling to the restaurant, the two seemed familiar talking and occasionally laughing. President Jokowi and Australian Prime Ministe Albanese are still wearing their pants and white shirts.
Soon they were dropped off and picked up by a golf cart to reach a restaurant where the two would have a more serious conversation.
