As one of the deepest rivers in Indonesia, the Siak river is inseparable from mystery stories. Behind the natural benefits provided by the river, which has a length of about 527 km, it turns out to save some very mysterious stories that are still believed to this day.
1. Mysterious Animals that Pop Up from the Siak River
The story starts from the existence of a white elephant that always comes out of the waters to a pair, a mermaid, and an animal like a dragon that was once rumored to come to the surface and eventually disappear. Some people believe that these mysterious animals are the embodiment of spirits that inhabit the Siak River.
2. The figure of the King
The figure of this king still inhabits a house on the edge of the Siak River. This house is still maintained because it is used as a cultural heritage by the local government. Mr. Kadi's house is his name. Built before 1895, the Malay architectural building became a stopover for the kings of the Siak Kingdom before continuing their journey.
No one is brave enough to inhabit the house. Not even the guard who was entrusted with opening the windows there every day. The figure of this king is said to have appeared to workers by looking like ancient Malay kings.
3. A Pair of White Crocodiles
Local people around the Siak River are also said to have often seen a pair of white crocodiles that inhabit the deepest river in Indonesia. According to local stories, these white crocodiles always show themselves as a sign of something big happening.
Some people believe that the figure of the Malay king and the pair of white crocodiles are related to each other. However, the story is still a story because until now there has been no documentation regarding it appearance.
