Most of the Kecak dancers are men and the plays that are told are usually about the Ramayana legend. The hallmark of the Kecak dance is the sound of 'cak cak cak cak' which is shouted by the male dancers who shout to each other.
The time for the Uluwatu Kecak dance performance is in the evening before sunset, precisely staged at 6 PM until 7 PM in Bali time.
In addition to seeing the breathtaking beauty of the temple and the stunning Kecak Dance, visitors can also interact directly with the monkeys who are residents of Uluwatu Temple.
The type of monkey here is a long-tailed gray monkey similar to the monkeys in the Ubud Monkey Forest. On the path leading to the front area of ??the temple, you will find many monkeys who are active around the forest area.
Because the monkeys are still considered wild, the temple guards usually appeal to tourists to keep their belongings from being taken by the monkeys. Don’t carry valuables or use objects that might attract monkeys to steal them.
In fact, at the entrance to the temple, there is a board containing regulations on items that are recommended not to be used, such as earrings that are too dangling and expensive, necklaces, cameras, cellphones, or expensive sunglasses.
Visitors can also give peanuts or bananas to monkeys.
This temple is a sacred area. Then, there is a dress code that must be followed by visitors. The procedure for dressing when entering the temple, namely wearing a sarong with a scarf tied at the waist. However, there is no need to buy a sarong or scarf if you forget to bring it, because the Uluwatu temple provides sarongs and scarves that can be used.
