VIVA – The State Civil Apparatus or locally known as ASN will give the freedom for work from anywhere. The Head of the Public Relations, Legal and Cooperation Bureau of the State Service Agency, Satya Pratama explained that besides work from home, the implementation of work from office working hours for civil servants has been going well. Therefore, in the future work from anywhere may also be applied.

"Actually, the WFO-WFH practice during the pandemic for ASN was going well, sir. However, it still has to be studied further if it becomes a WFA," said Satya to VIVA in Jakarta, Thursday on May 12, 2022.

In the Work from Anywhere system, the government gives civil servants the freedom to work from anywhere they want. For example, working in cafes, malls, and the beach. But they must fulfill their jobs and targets are achieved.

"So, maybe the concept of work from anywhere, the important thing is about the performance and targets are achieved," he said.

According to him, through the Work from Anywhere system, Civil servants can work more flexibly by utilizing information and communication technology. The implementation of Work Form Anywhere aims to improve performance and job satisfaction.

"The purpose is to improve the performance and satisfaction of civil servants in their work. At the same time, increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the government bureaucracy," he explained.

Currently, the government is reviewing to make full details regarding the Work from Anywhere rules. It will be written positions that can Work from Anywhere and the possibility of an administrative nature. This is for those who are in direct contact with the need for the physical presence of civil servants to still come to office.

"It’s still being studied, the possibility of an administrative nature, if those who have direct contact and the required physical presence will still come," added Satya.

However, Satya said that Work from Anywhere doesn’t apply to all civil servants. According to him, civil servants who are in direct contact with public services and demand attendance at the office will continue to work from office.

"For example, the Marine Security Agency patrol boat crews and KKP fisheries supervisors must be present, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights officers must be present, Satpol PP must be present, and so on," said Satya.
