Eid Holiday Ends, Odd-Even Rules Reapply on Jakarta Roads

VIVA – The odd-even rules on 13 Jakarta roads will be reapplied starting from Monday, May 9, 2022. The implementation is due to the end of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

The Director of Traffic Jaya Metro Police, and the Police Commissioner, Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said that the odd-even rule would apply on 13 Jakarta roads.

"Along with the end of the national public holiday, the odd-even in the city will start as usual from tomorrow," said the Police Commissioner, Sambodo in his statement, quoted on Monday, May 9, 2022.

Sambodo added that all road users are advised to pay attention, so that traffic jams and related violations don’t occur.

The odd-even rule was removed during the Eid al-Fitr holiday for more than a week from April 29 to May 8, 2022.

"Odd-even conditions will not be applied starting April 29, during a Eid al-Fitr holiday, then the days off," said the Head of the Transportation Agency Jakarta, Syafrin Liputo in Jakarta, Monday, April 25, 2022.

Related to that, theTransportation Agency Jakarta has also issued a decree 218 of 2022 concerning Odd-Even Technical Instructions.

The regulation contains the third provision letter B that odd-even applies on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.

“The odd-even rules apply on May 9 automatically. There will be another new rule because work has started," said Syafrin.

The 13 roads that apply odd-even in Jakarta are as follows:

1. M.H. Thamrin street;   
2. Jenderal Sudirman street;   
3. Sisingamangaraja street;
4. Panglima Polim street;
5. Fatmawati street, start from Simpang Ketimun 1 street until Simpang TB Simatupang street;
6. Tomang Raya street;
7. Jenderal S. Parman street start from Simpang Tomang Raya street until Gatot Subroto street;
8. Gatot Subroto street;
9. M.T. Haryono street;
10. H.R. Rasuna Said street;
11. D.I. Panjaitan street;
12. Jenderal A. Yani street start from Simpang Bekasi Timur street until Simpang Perintis Kemerdekaan street;
13. Gunung Sahari street.

The odd-even rule applies Monday-Friday from 6 AM to 10 AM. Then, start again at 4 PM until 9 PM.
