VIVA – Wonogiri, a city famous for its meatballs and chicken noodles turns out to have many beaches that have natural beauty until the mystical stories or legends that always make you curious. One of the famous beaches is Karang Payung Beach.
Karang Payung Beach is located in Dringo, Gunturharjo Village, Paranggupito District, Wonogiri, Central Java.
Karang Payung Beach is included as the newest beach. So, not many people come here yet and this beach has its own charm, especially in the sense of peace, it feels like the beaches in Bali.
This beach has a piece of high cliffs. With a mix of coral, sand, and the sound of ocean waves, this beach is perfect for vacations, healing, or camping.
One of the reasons why this beach is rarely visited by tourists is because it takes extra energy to reach the shoreline. This beach is hidden among the hills. So, in addition to using a motorcycle, the access also has to go down the cliff first.
The path to this tourist beach is still a path. Motorcycles or cars can only be parked at Waru Beach. After that, the journey continues on foot to the west, for approximately 500 meters.
Karang Payung Beach is still very beautiful. When you walk from the parking lot to the beach, you can enjoy the view of coconut trees and other plants with the fresh air.
Currently, there is only one shop there. Various kinds of menu are available there. The price is still very affordable. The ticket price for Karang Payung Beach is free. Visitors only need to pay a motorbike parking fee of Rp5000, and a car of Rp10000.
If visitors want to spend the night here, you will be charged a double-parking fee because it will be guarded all night.
The best photo spots are on a hill with beach views. There is also a beach guard to anticipate if the sea waves are rising. So, the beach guard will tell visitors to go upstairs.
Many tourists who come from outside the city, such as visitors from Solo, Jogja, and others. Usually, tourists will flock to this beach on weekends. Especially on Sunday nights, this beach will be crowded with visitors camping at Karang Payung Beach.
