5 Mysterious Doors in the World You Shouldn't Open

How we fantasize like a door in real life. Well, there are actually places in the real world whose doors have been shut for years for one reason or another.

1. Taj Mahal
Are you surprised because Taj Mahal is on this list? Well, the symbol of love built over a span of 20 years has some mysterious doors that are locked for no one to enter.
It has a total of 1089 rooms but those are some rooms that are hidden from everyone. Between the various theories, one of them is that a room is made of marbles and too much exposure to carbon dioxide can turn it into calcium carbonate. As a result, the four Towers around the Taj Mahal could collapse. For the same reason, there is no ventilation in these rooms.
Another theory is that Mumtaz Mahal was buried there in one of those rooms, those who believe in this theory are of the view that Mumtaz Mahal's body was there in the same condition as when she died.
2. Great Sphinx of Giza
The Great Sphinx of Giza, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human, was built 4,500 years ago. It took 100 workers and three years to complete.
The mystery of the Sphinx, there are two rectangular Chambers at a depth of 25 Ft (7.6 M). These chambers were discovered by seismographs and are located beneath the feet of the Sphinx. Researchers are of the view that there are two entrances to these Rooms but the doors are sealed.
Government officials have restricted further research and so what lies behind the door remains a mystery. However, some theories believe that the bedroom door will lead us to a hall of records containing scrolls of documents where the Egyptians had managed to record the history of the lost continent of Atlantis.
3. Padmanabhaswamy Temple
India has yet another mysterious door which has not been opened since the 16th century. Sree PadmanabhaswamyTemple is in Trivandrum. This temple is a holy place for Maha Vishnu and it was built in the 16th century and later King Travancore who is famous for his wealth renovated it.
The temple has six domes A until F and can’t be opened until 2011 when 5 of the 6 domes opened. Treasures including gold, gems, coins, and idols were recovered from this vault. Estimated value of wealth is one trillion dollars. That's quite a number to understand! Well, you may be wondering about the 6th vault.
Legend has it that in the 1930 some temple invaders tried to get into the vault but were unsuccessful because a terrible cobra appeared out of nowhere.
Moreover, there is a belief that the door is protected by a deadly curse and can only be opened by a 'Sadhu' who has knowledge of the 'Garuda Mantra'. Surprisingly, auditor general Vinod Rai stated that vault B had been opened seven times since 1990 and nothing terrible had happened.
4. Banff Springs      Â
Banff Springs in Canada, probably the best vacation ever. The ambiance of the hotel is peaceful and unhurried with views of Rundle Mountain and Bow Valley. However, there is a mystery that is revealed behind the magnificent hotel.
Many horror stories have shown up over the years such as Sam McCauley-waitress, dancing bride, and room 870. The hotel management admits the truth of this story except for one mysterious room 873. No guests were allowed into the room including the hotel staff and how someone got in when there is no door!
Room 873 on the 8th floor mysteriously disappeared, there was no door to room 873 but rather a long wall running where it was supposed to be.
However, when you knock on the wall, it’s a hole that defines a room behind the plastered wall. Legend has it that in 1928 a shocking incident occurred, a married couple and their daughter checked in but none of them were still alive to check out of the hotel.
At night when the father killed his wife and daughter before committing suicide. Since that day, the guest who booked room 873 was found complaining about the girl's screams and bloody fingerprints on the mirror, as a result of which the room was closed tightly.
5. Emperor's grave
The First Qin, Qin Shi Huang Qin Shi Huang or known as the First Emperor died in 210 BC and remained buried under the sand surrounded by Mercury for 2000 years. His greatest ambition is to conquer the six warring states of ancient China.
He ended feudalism and reunited the country under the Qin Dynasty. In 1974, some farmers were digging a well near China's old capital, Xianyang, when they came across the strange figure of a terracotta soldier. Excavation projects that spanned more than 4 decades revealed several thousand soldiers protecting the Emperor's tomb.
According to researchers, there are maybe about 8000 soldiers, so far 2000 have been excavated. Use advanced techniques such as remote sensing, ground-penetrating radar, and core sampling, scientists have delivered surprising research.
The Emperor's Tomb is much larger than believed at nearly 38 square miles. However, what lies within is a mystery and will remain so. The only guess so far is what Han Dynasty historian Sima Qian wrote in his annals. According to Sima Qian, the tomb contained palaces and towers as well as treasures.
