VIVA – Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), Erick Thohir, has said that he wants his ministry (BUMN) to become the first to implement e-government in Indonesia this year.
"This year, we have to be the first e-government ministry in Indonesia. We have to show it. Moreover, we are very lean," Thohir remarked at the online commemoration of the 24th anniversary of the ministry here on Wednesday.
The minister said that although there are still a number of obstacles, he is optimistic that the ministry can become the first to implement e-government in Indonesia. Therefore, the ministry must be proactive, he added.
"I welcome the arrival of one of the world's major software companies, where the software ecosystem is currently changing and becoming more efficient," he said.
If Indonesia does not accelerate digitization, then it could become a defeated and backward nation, he added.
"Alhamdulillah, the ministry has been imitated by many parties. The core value of SOEs, namely AKHLAK (to be trustworthy, competent, harmonious, loyal, adaptive, and collaborative) has now even been used by various ministries, even BAZNAS (National Amil Zakat Agency) also uses AKHLAK as its core value," the minister pointed out.
Hence, Thohir said he feels that the ministry needs to continue to make breakthroughs so that it is at the forefront of transformation.
"We must be an agile ministry. Therefore, I hope this year the Ministry of SOEs can become an e-government ministry. I believe we can do it," he added.
Earlier, Minister Thohir had said the ministry and state-owned companies will aim to implement e-government by the end of 2022.
The minister further said that every state-owned company must become digitally ready, with a minimum level of 3.5 from the best level of 4.
The target, he noted, will not be easy to achieve. However, he said he is confident that SOEs will be able to achieve it. (ant)
