Jakarta, VIVA – Chinese automotive manufacturer Build Your Dreams (BYD) has officially introduced its premium brand, Denza, to the Indonesian automotive market.
As a first step, Denza has launched the all-electric MPV D9, priced below IDR 1 billion, specifically IDR 950 million.
Earlier, this electric MPV—positioned as a competitor to the Zeekr 009 and Maxus Mifa 9—was showcased at an automotive exhibition last year.
Liu Xueliang, BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division, stated that the Denza D9 has sold over 300,000 units in China, earning it the title of the best-selling eco-friendly MPV and the leader in resale value within the premium segment, reflecting high customer satisfaction.
"As you’ve anticipated, the Denza D9 is officially here in Indonesia. I;m confident that EVs can become widely popular in Indonesia. With Denza’s presence, I’m sure consumers will feel the difference in new energy vehicles," said Liu Xueliang during the launch event in Jakarta.
The Denza D9 Electric closely resembles its PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) version already sold in China. It measures 5,250 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,920 mm in height.
With its imposing body exceeding five meters in length and a wheelbase of 3,110 mm, this electric MPV offers a spacious cabin for passengers or ample rear cargo space.
The vehicle features air suspension that allows adjustable ride height and is equipped with 18-inch wheels wrapped in 235/80 tires. The total weight of this electric car reaches 3.3 tons.
The Denza D9 is powered by a robust 170 Ah blade battery, capable of covering a distance of up to 600 kilometers.
For propulsion, it uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor mounted on the front wheels, delivering 230 kW of power and 360 Nm of torque.
