Jakarta, VIVA – Hanwha Life officially handed over the “Mobile Family Center” to the Indonesian government on January 16 at Jakarta City Hall. The initiative aims to build a psychological and emotional safety net for women and children, especially in underserved areas, by providing mobile support services.

This follows the launch of the “Digital Family Center” at the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection in Jakarta last year.

The “Digital Family Center” was established in collaboration with local child centers to provide mental care programs and counseling services. Since its inception in 2023, the partnership between Hanwha Life, the Jakarta government, and Save the Children has helped promote well-being for women and children.

The newly launched “Mobile Family Center” features specially modified vehicles equipped with counseling rooms, breastfeeding areas, and lounges.

These mobile units will visit various communities on scheduled days to deliver psychological counseling and independence support programs. By bringing services directly to local areas, the initiative increases access to mental health care, reducing the need for individuals to travel long distances.

In 2023, Jakarta’s Women and Children Protection Unit reported 1,682 cases of violence against women and children, a significant increase from 1,455 cases in 2022.

This alarming trend highlights the urgent need for specific solutions. The Mobile Family Center is expected to be a strategic innovation to strengthen protection for women and children.

The handover ceremony was attended by over 200 participants, including Teguh Setyabudi, Acting Governor of Jakarta, Hong Jeong-pyo, Vice President of Hanwha Life, Rosianto Hamid, Chief Program Impact Creation of Save the Children Indonesia, and other officials.

Hong Jeong-pyo remarked, “We are pleased to provide essential support to communities through the ‘Mobile Family Center.’ We will continue to uphold our social responsibility in Indonesia, improving the quality of life for local residents.”

Attendees experienced the services firsthand, sharing feedback on how to make the center more practical and effective for future operations.
