Indonesia, Pakistan Leaders Discuss to Strengthen Economic Ties

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the St. Regis Hotel, New Capital, Cairo, Egypt, on Wednesday (Dec 18).

The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to strengthening the long-standing relationship they share.

During the discussion, the two leaders addressed several important agendas concerning Indonesia-Pakistan relations.

In his statement, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial economic collaboration between the two countries.

“I just met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and we discussed the potential to enhance cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy and trade,” the President stated.

Beyond Pakistan, President Prabowo also highlighted Indonesia's efforts to build strong collaborative relationships. One such effort involved engaging with members of the Developing Eight (D-8) during the Summit Forum.

According to President Prabowo, the primary focus Indonesia will bring to the 11th D-8 Summit is strengthening economic cooperation among member nations. Opportunities for collaboration with various countries will continue to be pursued for the well-being of the people.

“We're exploring all possibilities for cooperation. Our current focus is on strengthening our respective economies. I believe it’s all about the prosperity of the people,” he concluded.
