Jakarta, VIVA – President Prabowo Subianto conveyed his commitment to complete the construction of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) within four years.

He said this during a retreat with the Red and White Cabinet at the Military Academy, Magelang, Central Java.

The message was shared by Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni via his Instagram post after a briefing with Prabowo in the last afternoon session of the retreat, on Saturday.

"For him, IKN is the 'Political Capital'. Besides finishing the executive buildings in the next four years, IKN Authority (OIKN) must also complete the Legislative and Judicial buildings," he said as quoted from his Instagram @rajaantoni, on Saturday, as quoted from Antara.

Furthermore, in several occasions, the head of state also promised to continue programs from the previous government in his administration.

"We have decided to continue and complete IKN (construction). There's no more question," Antoni stated.

According to the timeline, in 2028, IKN is expected to be completed and host state government and political activities.

"President Prabowo hopes we can conduct the 2028 DPR/MPR Plenary Session at the IKN. He even hopes that the inauguration of the President and Vice President in 2029 can be held at the IKN," the minister continued.

Previously on October 11, OIKN ensured that IKN construction would continue in the upcoming government period.

"There is no doubt about IKN continuity. It will be completed as a city world for all," the Special Staff to the Head of OIKN and spokesperson for OIKN, Troy Pantouw, noted in a statement from his office.

He also said that his party continues to attract domestic and foreign investors to invest at IKN, making it a super economic hub with the potential to drive the national economy.

To date, eight stages of groundbreaking have been carried out with an estimated investment value of IDR 58.41 trillion (US$3,6 billion).
