Prabowo Prepares IDR722,6 Trillion for Educational Sector in State Budget

Jakarta, VIVA – President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the education sector is one of the main priorities of his government for the next five years.
“The education budget in Indonesia’s 2025 State Budget Draft (RAPBN) reaches the highest figure in history, amounting to IDR 722.6 trillion,” the President said at a press conference at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday (Oct 23).
He added, “Education is absolutely essential. I have already summoned the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education to discuss the big picture of how we can reach all of our children,"

The education budget will be allocated for improving school children’s nutrition, renovating schools, and developing flagship schools.
It will also be used to advance cultural development, strengthen world-class universities, and promote research development.
In 2022, the government allocated IDR 472.6 trillion for education. This amount increased to IDR 513.3 trillion in 2023 and rose again to IDR 560.8 trillion in 2024.
The figure of IDR 722.6 trillion proposed for 2025 reflects a significant increase that is expected to address various challenges in the education sector.
