The project had been halted due to a corruption case involving former Communication Minister Johnny G Plate.

Anindya Bakrie also mentioned another accomplishment, as known the Minister successfully exposed online gambling operations with total losses amounting to IDR 400 trillion.

“The crackdown on online gambling is no small matter; it's reported that the turnover reached up to IDR 400 trillion per quarter. To achieve this, it took intelligence, courage, and a well-planned strategy,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday (Oct 3).

Bakrie then remarked that Minister Setiadi also introduced a peaceful 2024 election program.

“A peaceful election is a fundamental condition for us to conduct business, because if the climate is not conducive, we won’t be motivated to do anything," Bakrie emphasized.

He added, "But with political stability and continuity, businesses can think about moving forward,”

Furthermore, Bakrie appreciated Budi Arie Setiadi’s efforts in protecting the MSME ecosystem from the dominance of large players in the digital space.

“Minister Setiadi also prevented disruption to the national MSME ecosystem, as technology is dominated by very large players. However, the minister consistently ensures that special attention is given to the MSME ecosystem,” Bakrie concluded.
