“Congratulations to everyone who received an award. Whether in the category of athlete, coach, referee, professor, media, mentor, or promoter, this is the nation’s appreciation for your dedication, hard work, and service to the country and society through sports,” the minister said.

Minister Ariotedjo explained that the awards were given because it coincided with National Sports Day, which was also marked by the opening of the 2024 National Sports Week (PON XXI) in Banda Aceh, Aceh, and North Sumatra.

According to him, the award recipients were selected through an evaluation process by a joint panel of judges, including representatives from the ministry, academics, the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI), the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), and other experts. The entire process was conducted independently.

“We present these awards annually. All the recipients are recognized for their contribution to the advancement of sports in Indonesia," he remarked.

The minister added, "I believe the public can also see how these figures have positively impacted sports in Indonesia,"

He also hoped that the awardees would continue to inspire and share their experiences with athletes and the public.

Furthermore, the awarding of this recognition to outstanding sports figures is based on Presidential Regulation Number 44 of 2014 on Sports Awards.

In addition to mentors, the awardees also received certificates and financial support, with varying amounts.
