Jokowi Praises MotoGP Mandalika for Hiring Thousands of Local Workers

West Nusa Tenggara, VIVA – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) personally attended the MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
He praised this year's MotoGP Mandalika event, stating that it was well-organized, especially in terms of management and facilities.
"This year's MotoGP is excellent especially the management is good, an the facilities also getmuch improved," the head of state said at the Mandalika Circuit in Lombok.
He also appreciated the 2024 MotoGP Mandalika event for involving thousands of workers from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
"I'm very pleased that 3,000 crew members involved in this MotoGP Mandalika event are all from West Nusa Tenggara," the President said.
However, he acknowledged that there were still some shortcomings in the international event that needed to be addressed and evaluated.
"We will evaluate and fix what is still lacking. What remains deficient, we will correct and improve," President Jokowi added.
Furthermore, he stated that conveyed that Dorna, the event organizer, mentioned that the MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit was quite unusual.
"Dorna told me that this event was very good and unique, particularly with the national anthem and the impressive traditional dances," he explained.
At the same venue, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, also expressed his happiness regarding the success of the MotoGP Mandalika event.
"We're very pleased that MotoGP has employed 3,000 local residents from West Nusa Tenggara and Lombok," Minister Ariotedjo said during the event.
He added, "This creates a very good multiplier effect," he stated.
As additional information, the final race of MotoGP Mandalika 2024 was won by Jorge Martin in first place, while P. Acosta came in second, and Francesco Bagnaia (Pecco) took third place.
