Watono further emphasized that they want to ensure Borobudur is not only seen as a relic of the past but also as a symbol of hope and innovation that will continue to grow.

"To realize a world-class tourism destination," she remarked.

This project is being carried out with InJourney’s subsidiary, Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko (TWC), also known as InJourney Destination Management (IDM).

Borobudur, one of the five Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP), has been earmarked as a world-class tourism destination in line with InJourney’s commitment to developing inclusive destinations.

"Through the re-masterplan and revitalization programs, Borobudur will not only focus on maintaining its position as the world’s largest Buddhist monument but also on becoming a more inclusive and sustainable center for spirituality, education, and culture," Watono explained.

She added, "To achieve the vision of a quality and sustainable Borobudur tourism, InJourney, through IDM, is reorganizing the Borobudur area using four pillars, such as spirituality, conservation, education, and tourism,"

As information, under the spirituality pillar, they are organizing spaces, facilities, and developing spiritual activities.

InJourney is revitalizing green open spaces and landscapes as outdoor venues for spiritual studies. Additionally, they are upgrading supporting facilities as part of the revitalization.
