Prabowo Subianto Urges Strengthened Indonesia-Vietnam Bilateral Ties

Hanoi, VIVA – Indonesia's Defense Minister, Prabowo Subianto, held a meeting with the Chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly, Tran Thanh Man, in Vietnam on Saturday (Sept 14).

This meeting was part of Prabowo's working visit to Vietnam. Previously, on Friday, Prabowo had met with Vietnam's President, Tô Lâm.

During the bilateral meeting, Subianto and Tran Thanh Man discussed several strategic issues and sought to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Vietnam.

The meeting is also expected to reinforce the already established strategic cooperation and encourage collaboration in various sectors of mutual interest to both countries.

Prabowo Subianto also appreciated the constructive discussions and expressed his hope that Indonesia and Vietnam can continue to contribute positively to regional stability.

"We see a lot of potential to deepen defense relations with Vietnam, which will undoubtedly contribute positively to regional stability," he stated.

Several key figures accompanied Prabowo in the meeting, including the Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Denny Abdi; a member of Indonesia's House of Representatives (Commission I), Sugiono; and Indonesia's Defense Attaché in Vietnam, Navy Colonel (P) Dian Tri Hutanto.

On the Vietnamese side, the Chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly was accompanied by the Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee, Vu Hai Ha; the Chairman of the National Assembly's Legal Committee, Hoang Thanh Tung; the Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia, Ta Van Thong; the Deputy Chairman of the National Defense and Security Committee, Do Quang Thanh; the Deputy Foreign Minister, Do Hung Viet; a member of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee, Tran Thi Hong An; and the Assistant to the Chairman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Hoang Hai.
