Tangerang, VIVA – Kawasaki Motor Indonesia (KMI) has officially introduced a range of off-road four-wheeled vehicles, including ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles), UVs (Utility Vehicles), and RUVs (Recreational Utility Vehicles).
Michael C. Tanadhi, the Department Head of Sales & Promotion at KMI, stated that these four-wheeled vehicles represent a new business line for Kawasaki.
“After focusing on delivering excitement in the sports motorcycle segment, we are officially starting a new business line with the introduction of four-wheeled vehicles,” he said in BSD Tangerang.
The UV and RUV types are commonly referred to as SxS (Side by Side), which are off-road vehicles with at least two seats positioned side by side and enclosed in a roll cage structure.
These vehicles have four wheels and are operated using foot controls and a steering wheel.
Meanwhile, ATVs are four-wheeled vehicles claimed to be capable of traversing all terrains, with controls similar to a motorcycle.
“For ATVs, we are targeting customers from the mining, military, and rental business sectors, primarily in Bali and other regions,” Tanadhi remarked.
Furthermore, he predicted that demand for these vehicles will mostly come from the government sector, including the military and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). Regarding sales targets, Kawasaki aims to sell hundreds of units per year.
“We're targeting around 200 units per year across all off-road four-wheeled product lines. The warranty is similar to that of our motorcycle products,” he revealed.
As off-road vehicles, this product line, which is directly imported from the United States, does not come with standard registration documents like regular passenger vehicles.
