Jakarta – The Jakarta Department of Transportation has temporarily removed the odd-even vehicle policy during the Eid al-Adha holiday in 2024. This eliminated will be in effect for two days, June 17-18, 2024, both of which have been designated as national holidays.
"In connection with the Eid al-Adha holiday and collective leave in 2024, the implementation of the odd-even policy on June 17-18, 2024, will be suspended," said the Head of the Jakarta Department of Transportation, Syafrin Liputo, on Sunday.
The suspension of the odd-even policy is based on the joint decree by the Minister of Religious Affairs, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform of the Indonesia, Number 855 of 2023, concerning National Holidays and Collective Leave in 2024.
Additionally, it also based on the Governor's Regulation Number 88 of 2019, Article 3, Paragraph 3, which states, "Traffic restrictions using the odd-even system do not apply on Saturday, Sunday, and national holiday as determined by a Presidential Decree."
Furthermore, Liputo urged drivers to continue adhering to traffic regulations and prioritizing collective safety.
"We urge vehicle drivers to always comply with existing traffic signs, prioritize safety on the road, and follow the directions of officers in the field," Liputo concluded.
