Bogor – As many as hundreds of people were forced to evacuate over an explosion and fire at the Indonesian National Army (TNI) Ammunition Warehouse, Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Saturday.
Acting West Java Governor Bey Machmudin said residents were evacuated in two different places.
"I and other local officials have ensured residents around the blast site are safe," Machmudin said in a statement on Saturday.
Machmudin said the Bogor District Government quickly built a public kitchen for food needs for the community while in evacuation.
Until now, the condition has been under control by officers and is still in the process of being repaired.
"The point is that the conditions are under control," he informed.
Residents have also volunteered and understood the conditions that caused them to be temporarily evacuated.
"They are already conducive and understand that they have to be in a safe place first. So, there is no rejection or resistance," he concluded.
