Jakarta – The Acting Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono plans to build a new water pump house in Sunter River in 2025. It's one of the steps to anticipate flooding in the Jakarta area.
"So, the evaluation in 2025 will be to add (water pumps) in Sunter River," Hartono said after reviewing the Ancol Pumping Station, North Jakarta due to flooding that hit a number of points in the capital city on Thursday.
Hartono said the plan to build a new pump in the Sunter River was carried out to reduce the burden of water and its flow into the Ancol River.
He hopes that this plan can be included in the program structure and budget in 2025.
"From the results of discussions in the field, the Ancol River load is still quite high. So in 2025, a program will be made for pumps in Sunter River, to reduce the load in Ancol. It will be budgeted in 2025. The evaluation results are approximately that,"
From the data of the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) as of 10 a.m., there are 34 points or roads that are flooded due to heavy rain.
"BPBD noted that currently there are 34 flooded roads in the DKI Jakarta area," said Jakarta BBPD Acting Head Isnawa Adji in a statement.
Based on BPBD Jakarta data, the most flooding points are in North Jakarta areas such as Jalan Raya Gading Kirana, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta with a height of 40 cm. Then, there is on Jalan Gaya Motor II, North Jakarta with a height of 50 cm.
