Gaza – Hundreds of Israeli citizens setting up a camp at the Karem Abu Salem border to block humanitarian aid trucks from entering Gaza strip.

The protesters, including some right-wing Israelis and families of Hamas-held Israeli citizens, demand the halt of aid until all hostages are released.

There's skepticism about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ability to secure the release of 136 hostages, leading to targeting aid trucks.

Some Israelis fear aid strengthens Hamas, while baseless claims circulate that aid ends up with Hamas.

The situation exacerbates Gaza's dire humanitarian crisis, with a quarter of the population starving and struggling for basic needs. Israeli military bans civilians from the crossing zone, but protests persist.

One group, Tzav 9, insists aid should only flow once hostages are freed and ensures it doesn't reach them.

Netanyahu opened a second crossing in December under international pressure but also to maintain influence in Gaza.

However, strict Israeli measures delay aid trucks, exacerbating Gaza's crisis, where 500 trucks daily are needed for 2.3 million people's needs.
