Fallen Tree Killed Indonesian Student in Adelaide

Adelaide – An Indonesian student, Alifia Soeryo, who was studying in Australia killed by a tree branch fell at the University of Adelaide's soccer ground. The accident was happened on Wednesday, 2.30 p.m local time.

First responders said the tree branch had split several years ago into two pieces weighing about 10 tons. But it eventually snapped and fell on Alifia Soeryo.

Local police said that they are looking for two witnesses who helped Alifia after she was hit by the tree. One of the alleged witnesses is a retired medical professional.

The 22-year-old, also known as 'Fia' or 'Fi' has been remembered by friends and family as a "beautiful soul" who was "taken away way too soon".

"She always had a smile on her face, she was one of the most beautiful person that I've ever met," a heartbroken friend told 9News site. 

"She was taken away way too soon, she had so much love and life to give,"

As more information, Alifia Soeryo was recognized in January for her contribution in helping the University of Adelaide's motorsport team win first place in the Formula SAE-A 2023 competition, a competition that demonstrates the ability to lead the way in electric vehicle engineering among students.
