BMW Rolls Out Two Electric Cars to Indonesian Market

Jakarta – The Automotive manufacturer from Germany, BMW officially launched two latest premium electric cars, namely the BMW iX xDrive50 and iX1 for Indonesian market.
Ramesh Divyanathan, the President Director of BMW Group Indonesia, mentioned that the demand for BMW electric cars significantly increased in 2023, with deliveries reaching 745 units to customers in Indonesia.
"We have delivered around 745 units of electric cars to Indonesian consumers in 2023. To meet the growing demand, we are introducing the latest variants of BMW iX, namely BMW iX1 and iX xDrive50," Divyanathan stated during the launch in Central Jakarta.
Last year, BMW Indonesia introduced The X1 with an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), and the iX1 model is the electric version of that variant.
About design, the iX1 emphasizes the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment more clearly, with square-shaped wheel arch contours, combining the distinctive BMW X model style at the front and rear.
Regarding the specifications, the BMW iX1 is powered by an electric motor capable of producing 204 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. This electric SAV has a range starting from 430 to 475 kilometers on a single charge.
Furthermore, the iX xDrive50 model also falls into the SAV segment, being a more sporty and powerful version compared to the previously launched iX xDrive40 in the domestic market.
The BMW iX xDrive50 Sport has an output of 385kW/523hp, enabling the vehicle to reach 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. This electric car has a range of up to 630 kilometers.
Then prices, the BMW iX1 is sold for IDR1,447,000,000, and the iX xDrive50 is priced at IDR2,627,000,000. Both prices are off the road in DKI Jakarta.
