Jakarta – The Indonesian Finance Mnister Sri Mulyani is responding an issue regarding to her resignation from the Indonesian Onward Cabinet led by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"This is me working. I work," the minister answered at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday. Minister Mulyani is known to have attended two agenda meetings at the palace for discussion on the entertainment tax and education funding.

After attending the two meetings, the minister was seen leaving the Presidential Palace complex at around 11:30 a.m. local time.

When approached by media crew, the minister replied briefly to various questions posed by journalists and then made a dash to the car, with RI 26 license plate.

On the same occasion, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, denied the issue regarding Mulyani's resignation.

"No," he said briefly, as reported from Antara site. He stated that during the meeting, President Jokowi did not discuss issues regarding Mulyani's resignation.

As a way to confirm that Mulyani is still part of the cabinet structure, Hartarto accentuated that Ani, the finance minister's nickname, is his friend. "Mrs. Ani is my friend," he emphasized.

As reported, senior economist Faisal Basri stated at a discussion event in Jakarta held recently that Sri Mulyani was the minister who was morally the most ready to resign from the cabinet.

Apart from Sri Mulyani, Basri stated that Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono was also ready to resign.

According to Basri, the willingness to resign arose due to the president's support of one of the presidential candidates for the upcoming election.
