Israel – The Hebrew news newspaper, Walla, reported that at least 4,000 Israeli soldiers have become disabled since the beginning of the war in Gaza on October 7, 2023, and estimates suggest that this number could increase to 30,000.

However, the actual number is believed to be larger, but they choose to conceal it. The site stated that the Israeli military does not disclose all data about casualties to the public, fearing it would negatively impact public morale.

"This country is preparing to accept a large number of disabled Israeli soldiers, and after 100 days of war, about 4,000 soldiers have been officially acknowledged as suffering from disabilities," the report said, as quoted from Anadolu, explaining that the number could rise to 30,000 people.

The military operation carried out by the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas on October 7 brought Israel into an unprecedented war in terms of the number of wounded soldiers, and more importantly, the severity of their injuries.

It added that soldiers with severe injuries can only survive thanks to the dedicated and high-quality care provided by rescue teams and medical teams. The site also stated that the Israeli military does not provide all the data.

"At present, about 4,000 soldiers (disabled individuals) have been recognized according to the classification 3, which means they are entitled to all the treatments and rights enjoyed by disabled individuals in the Israeli military without being officially recognized in this way," Walla explained.

"I have been in this organization for 30 years, and I have never met so many severely injured people," said Idan Kaliman, the head of the Israel Disabled Veterans Organization.

"There are many who are injured with amputated limbs, blindness, or paralysis," Kaliman added.

Meanwhile, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, 23,843 Palestinian residents have been killed, and 60,317 injured in the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza since October 7. The majority of those killed and injured are women and children.
