Japanese Hotel Costs $1 a night but Must Live-streaming During Stay
- Asahi Ryokan
Japan – Asahi Ryokan, a hotel in the city of Fukuoka, Japan presents a different concept to its guests. Tetsuya Inoue, 27, has come up with an interesting offer that allows guests to stay for as little as ¥100 (about $1) or around IDR 15,000 per night, on one unusual condition.
This Asahi Ryokan hotel has a unique condition where guests must live-stream during their stay. The hotel, located in the Fukuoka area, offers an innovative concept by combining cheap comfort with public exposure.
Unlike other hotels, guests who agree to the condition will broadcast their daily lives live via One Dollar Hotel's YouTube channel, as reported by CNN site.
Asahi Ryokan Although this idea sounds unique, Tetsuya Inoue ensures that privacy remains a top priority. The live broadcast is video-only, so guests can maintain intimacy in conversations or phone calls.
Also, the bathrooms are out of camera range, and guests are allowed to turn off the lights as needed. Inoue explained that the hotel, which has been in operation since last year, is looking for new business models to increase its appeal amid the evolving economic era.
By offering a unique and affordable stay, One Dollar Hotel seeks to add value to guests. While a $1 room is definitely a losing proposition, Inoue is looking further ahead.
One Dollar Hotel's YouTube channel already has enough subscribers that Inoue can monetize the channel through ad placements.
Enjoying Fukuoka's Amenities and Beauty Besides the unique hotel experience, Fukuoka offers a special charm with its delicious food, especially the pork tonkotsu ramen from the Ichiran chain.
The city also has the Fukuoka Museum of Art, which has reopened after a three-year renovation. For those who don't mind being under the spotlight, One Dollar Hotel in Fukuoka might be an interesting option to experience a different and affordable stay in Japan.
