Over 550,000 Vehicles Returning to Jabotabek After Christmas Holiday

Jakarta – Jasa Marga recorded around 551,152 vehicles returned to the Jabotabek area after Christmas Day (December 25-27, 2023).
This figure is the cumulative figure of traffic flow (traffic) from four Barrier/Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (from the direction of Merak), GT Ciawi (from the direction of Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama (from the direction of Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (from Bandung direction).
When compared with the Christmas 2022 period, the total traffic volume increased by 11.62% (493,764 vehicles).
For the distribution of traffic returning to Jabotabek from three directions, namely the majority of 273,764 vehicles (49.67%) from the East (Trans Java and Bandung), 148,189 vehicles (26.89%) from the West (Merak) and 129,199 vehicles (23 .44%) from the South (Puncak).
The total volume of traffic returning to the Jabotabek area increased by 38.31% compared to normal traffic (398,476 vehicles) in the same period.
The details of traffic distribution are as follows:
From the east (Trans Java and Bandung), traffic returns to Jabotabek from the Trans Java direction via GT Cikampek Utama on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 135,039 vehicles, an increase of 68.27% from normal traffic.
Traffic returned to Jabotabek from Bandung via the Kalihurip Utama GT on the Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 138,725 vehicles, an increase of 59.31% from normal traffic.
Total traffic returning to Jabotabek from Trans Java and Bandung via the two GTs was 273,764 vehicles, an increase of 63.61% from normal traffic.
From West Merak), traffic returning to Jabotabek from Merak via GT Cikupa on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road was 148,189 vehicles, an increase of 7.38% from normal traffic.
Meanwhile, from the south (Puncak), the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek from Puncak via the Ciawi GT on the Jagorawi Toll Road was 129,199 vehicles, an increase of 38.70% from normal traffic.
Lisye Octaviana, Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head reminded road users that they can again take advantage of the 10% toll rate discount on the Trans Java Toll Road on December 28, 2023, for continuous return journeys from Semarang to Jakarta (GT Kalikangkung to GT Cikampek Utama ).
"The 10% tariff discount will be implemented again by Jasa Marga and other Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT) managing the Trans Java Semarang to Jakarta Toll Road on December 28 2023 and later on January 3 2024," Octaviana remarked.
"The hours when the tariff discount applies are from 00.00 WIB to 24.00 WIB, or valid for 24 hours, and applies to all categories of vehicles,"
Jasa Marga hopes to maximize traffic distribution so that there is no accumulation of vehicles.
