Jokowi to Introduce 2024 Elected President to World Leaders

Jakarta – The Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan stated that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will introduce the 2024 elected President to world leaders.

The Minister said that President Jokowi will introduce the 2024 Indonesian President to several heads of state, including the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), and the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ).

"In Bali some time ago with President Jokowi, he said that he will introduce the elected President to his friends, heads of state, MBS, MBZ," the Minister said on Friday.

According to the Minister, the transition between old and new leaders in a government needs to go well. A smooth transition can increase other countries' trust in Indonesia.

"Our goal is to transition or handover process can run smoothly and not have to wait a long time to get straight to work because we are racing against time in the context of bringing Indonesia 2045, whoever the next president will be," Minister Pandjaitan explained. 

Minister Pandjaitan also admitted that he feels lucky to have a leader like Jokowi because he is not only brave in making quick decisions, but also measured. 

These decisions allow proposed ideas to be immediately executed. Because, even though the concepts designed are very beautiful, in the end, success lies in the speed and skill of the leader in executing them, he added. 

The Minister remarked that successful execution determines the realization of government program ideas and plans. 

"That's key because if it doesn't work it won't look good," Minister Pandjaitan informed. 

On this occasion, the Minister also admitted that his party would continue to strive so that economic growth could grow to 6 percent from the current 5 percent to achieve the demographic bonus in 2045.
