Jakarta – Flying cars are one of the future transportation technologies that are believed to change the way we travel. After years of development, there are now several flying cars that are ready to be sold in the near future.
Here's list of flying cars that are ready to fly and can be ordered by consumers.
Alef Aeronautics Model A
Alef Aeronautics Model A is the first flying car to be sold commercially.
This car is designed to be able to take off and land vertically (VTOL), so it can be used on roads and in the air.
It is powered by an electric motor and has a range of up to 320 kilometers on the road and 160 km in the air. The Alef Aeronautics Model A is priced starting at US$300,000 (IDR 4.5 billion).
PAL-V Liberty
PAL-V Liberty is another flying car that will also be sold in the near future. This car has a unique design, with the front resembling a car and the back resembling an airplane.
The PAL-V Liberty is powered by a gasoline engine and has a range of up to 800 km on the road and 160 km in the air. The car is priced from €250,000 (IDR 4.2 billion).
Terrafugia Transition
Transition is a flying car that has been in development since 2006. It has a design similar to a conventional car, with wings that can be folded when landing.
The Terrafugia Transition is powered by a gasoline engine and has a range of up to 640 km on the road and 64 km in the air. This model is planned to be sold at a starting price of €200,000 (IDR 3.3 billion).
Unfortunately, the delivery of units to consumers has been delayed because the company had to move its offices and development facilities from the United States to China.
In addition to these three cars, there are still several other flying cars that are also in the development stage and are scheduled to go on sale in the next few years. The presence of flying cars will certainly bring about major changes in the transportation industry.
Flying cars are believed to be a faster and more efficient transportation alternative, especially for long distances. However, flying cars also still have some challenges to overcome, such as flight regulations and safety.
