Anindya Bakrie Reveals VKTR Electric Bus Has Good Progress

Jakarta – President Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bakrie & Brothers (BNBR), Anindya Novyan Bakrie conveyed the progress of VKTR electric buses for the Indonesian market.
Through a joint venture, VKTR Sakti Industries (VKTS) in Magelang, Central Java, VKTR has produced several electric bus units on a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) basis.
Anindya Bakrie revealed that the BYD brand electric bus type D9 high floor produced by VKTR has succeeded in attracting local consumers.
"Several BYD brand electric buses type D9 high floor which are currently being produced, will be used by one of the paper companies in Indonesia as a mode of employee shuttle transportation," Bakrie said at Bakrie Tower, Kuningan, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Anindya Bakrie further emphasized, "As a BNBR business unit that has entered the Indonesian electric vehicle ecosystem industry, currently VKTR has successfully operated 52 electric bus units that have traveled 3.6 million kilometers,"
A total of 10 million passengers have ridden VKTR electric buses in just 20 months.
"VKTR has now succeeded in reducing 4,800 tons of CO2 in the air," Bakrie remarked.
Furthermore, Anindya Bakrie revealed that the achievement of several positive performances continued to be achieved by VKTR after listing shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and expanding the expansion of the electric bus and truck assembly plant facilities in Magelang, Central Java.
For now, VKTR is even exploring strategic cooperation with several major global automotive companies to produce electric vehicles or electric vehicles (EV) Mining trucks and EV trucks.
Then, Bakrie said that currently BNBR is also trying to establish cooperation with several parties. The cooperation is an effort to market their electric bus and truck products, to som emajor cities in Indonesia.
"VKTR is in the process of working with several local dealers to provide product sales facilities that will be spread across some major cities in Indonesia," he concluded.
