Jokowi Invites All People Plant Trees to Fight Against Climate Change

Jakarta – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Wednesday participated in the Joint Tree Planting Movement Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP) Forest in the Pulogadung Industrial Zone in East Jakarta.
"The movement is crucial in efforts to fight against climate change and address air pollution," the Head of State said.
“This initiative is part of our efforts to tackle climate change and address the tangible effects of global warming, as well as to tackle pollution in Jakarta,” President Widodo remarked.
On that occasion, the President expressed appreciation to anyone who have contributed to the success of the tree-planting initiative.
“A heartfelt thank you to local communities, especially to the Jakarta Capital Region Authority along with all regional governments in Greater Jakarta, and all participating companies,” the President expressed.
The Head of State arrived at the JIEP Forest in the Pulogadung Industrial Zone at around 08.35 Western Indonesia Time and actively participated in tree planting during the event.
“I also noticed the trees flourishing, including pulai (blackboard tree), trembesi (rain tree), sapodilla, and bungur. We planted a variety of plants,” the President remarked.
