Indonesia Sets Hajj Quota of 241000 for 2024

Jakarta – The Working Committee (Panja) on Hajj Implementation Costs (BPIH) of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives and the Government Working Committee represented by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and BPKH agreed on Indonesia's hajj quota for 1445 H or 2024 AD as many as 241 thousand pilgrims.

The agreement was decided in a meeting at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta on Monday. 

"The Working Committee of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives on BPIH Year 1445 H/2024 M and the Government Working Committee agreed on the following basic assumptions for BPIH. Indonesia's hajj quota in 1445H/2024M is 241,000 pilgrims," said Chairman of the BPIH Working Committee of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives Abdul Wachid, reading the conclusion of the committee meeting.

Director General of Hajj and Umrah of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Hilman Latief and Head of BPKH Fadlul Imansyah were also present at the meeting.

Wachid continued by detailing the 241 thousand quota divided into regular and special pilgrims. 

"With details of the regular pilgrimage quota of 221,720 and special pilgrims as many as 19,280 people," Wachid said.

It is known, the Panja BPIH meeting has approved the BPIH and Bipih that must be borne by the congregation, amounting to IDR 56,046,172.

In addition, Indonesian Religion Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas stated the result was the fastest decision of the Hajj working committee. 

"This one is probably the fastest decision of Hajj working committee has ever made, only two weeks," the Minister said in a statement, on Monday. 

Minister Qoumas also appreciated the performance of the Hajj working committee which had determined the total of the Hajj with careful consideration. 

As information, the Religion Ministry also announced the Hajj quota of 241,000 pilgrims for 2024, with detailed quotas for regular Hajj pilgrims of 221,720 people and special Hajj pilgrims of 19,280 people.
