Bakrie Promotes Indonesian Energy Transition at Business Roundtable

Jakarta – President Commissioner of VKTR, Anindya Novyan Bakrie revealed that VKTR is officially collaborating with Pertamina Power Indonesia (Pertamina NRE). This collaboration is carried out as a sustainable mobility solution for public transportation in Indonesia. 

"We are proud to announce an innovative partnership between @VKTR_Indonesia and Pertamina Power Indonesia (Pertamina NRE), a sub-holding of Pertamina (Persero) that focuses on new and renewable energy," Bakrie wrote through his official Instagram account on Saturday.

"Through a letter of interest to the US international Development Finance Corporation (US DFC), the partnership will bring sustainable mobility solutions to public transportation in Indonesia," he continued. 

Bakrie stated that the aim of the event is to promote a closer relationship, especially with regard to the issues of energy transition and decarbonisation. Including electrification and important minerals. 

Moreover,  Anindya Bakrie remarked that the event was discussed about strengthen of cooperation and investment between Indonesia and the United States

"Opportunities from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to strengthen business and investment relations between the US and Indonesia Among other related matters. Policy and strategy support, as well as ways to collaborate on diversifying and securing sustainable supply chains of essential minerals, especially in battery materials," Bakrie explained. 

Then, Bakrie conveyed that AESC is now building a battery plant in United States of Kentucky, Tennessee, and South Carolina, which can give market access to battery raw materials from Indonesia. 

"We hope that all of this will accelerate formation of electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia and help achieve Net Zero 2060 target or even sooner," Bakrie concluded.
