22 Countries Enliven the Aquabike World Championship in Lake Toba

North Sumatra – The Aquabike Jetski World Championship Lake Toba 2023 will be followed by 128 racers from 22 countries, including 10 local racers who will enliven the world jetski event on November 23-26, 2023. 

Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo conveyed hopes that various world championships held on Lake Toba can encourage the development of sports tourism in Indonesia

Moreover, Lake Toba successfully organized the Powerboat World Championship some time ago. 

"Given the success of F1 Powerboat 2023 on Lake Toba which is a stimulus for the water sports industry in Indonesia, this is a mandate from the Grand Design of National Sports (DBON), and efforts to develop sports tourism which is a siginificant for community economic empowerment," Minister Ariotedjo explained on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Kartika Wiroatmodjo said that F1 Powerboat 2023 managed to attract 25,000 visitors with an economic impact worth IDR 1.7 trillion. 

Wiroatmodjo also hopes that the same success can be repeated at the Aquabike World Championship.

"We hope to repeat this success, this time there are four regencies, and other regents can equally enjoy this event," Wiroatmodjo expressed.

Then, the Acting Governor of North Sumatra, Hassanudin revealed that the North Sumatra Provincial Government is ready to succeed in organizing the 2023 Lake Toba Aquabike Jetski World Championship on Lake Toba. 

Hassanudin hopes that the world event can attract one hundred thousand visitors. So, it has an economic impact on business people and the surrounding community.

"We are very happy, North Sumatra gets this sustenance, the hope is 100 thousand visitors, if it materializes it is extraordinary," Hassanudin remarked.
