Kertajati Will Be the Busiest Airport After Soekarno-Hatta

Tangerang – West Java International Airport (BIJB) or Kertajati Airport is planned to become the busiest airport after Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang.
AirNav Indonesia's Director of Safety, Security, and Standardization, Riza Fahmi stated the inclusion of the Kertajati Airport projection to become the busiest airport, made his party prepare several sophisticated tools to support flight navigation.
"Kertajati Airport will be the second busiest after Soekarno-Hatta Airport. There are several money tools according to standards, and it is equipped with Satellite-based departure or take-off (SID) and arrival or landing (STAR) navigation services that support the safety and regularity of flights to and from Kertajati Airport," Fahmi said on Sunday.
Planned as the busiest airport, Kertajati Airport has a take-off and landing capacity of 150 flights per day, both domestic and international.
"That capacity can be 150 flights. However, a good increase is planned to be 24 flights. For airport operations, it is also added from previously only until 6 pm currently until 9 pm," Fahmi remarked.
The following flight navigation services are Tower and Approach Control units;
- Improve the readiness of Aviation Telecommunication Equipment between Pilot and Air Traffic Controller (ATC);
- Improve the readiness of Flight Navigation Equipment including Instrument Landing System (ILS) and DVOR-DME.
- Prepare PBN / Satellite-based Departure / Take-off (SID) and Arrival / Landing (STAR) procedures that support the safety and regularity of flights to and from Kertajati Airport.
Then forthe first time, Kertajati Airport officially serves commercial flights with increased frequency. The inauguration was marked by the Kertajati-Denpasar departure flight and Denpasar-Kertajati arrival.
