Tangerang – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) encouraged Indonesia to dominate the global market. Indonesia should no longer be a market for imported goods.
"This must be done by Indonesia because, in the current era of globalization, competence is increasingly difficult," the Head of State said virtually when opening Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2023 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Wednesday.
"We must not only become a market, we must become actors, must become competitive producers and master the market that I value," the Head of State continued.
According to the President, this Trade Expo event allows Indonesian exporters to meet face-to-face with prospective buyers or buyers who want to buy to conduct direct negotiations.
"To facilitate interaction and open up more transaction opportunities. Moreover, I heard that this year is also focused on opening market opportunities from non-traditional markets such as the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa which are carried out offline and online," the President explained.
According to Jokowi, the government's focus on opening market opportunities in the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa will make business in Indonesia more advanced.
"This is very good and I ask it to be continued so that we can verify the market," President Jokowi said.
So that Indonesian entrepreneurs, Indonesian MSMEs, and Indonesian local product industries can advance and become an important part of the global supply chain, he added.
As information, Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) is the largest trade show in Indonesia that focuses on B2B (business to business) trade while promoting tourism and investment exhibition for export-oriented products and services.
The event serves as a platform to connect the global market with high-quality and innovative export products from Indonesia.
