While on the Israeli side, more than 1,300 lives in Israel were lost due to Hamas attacks, including more than 250 people who were attending a music festival, an Israel Defense Forces spokesman said on Wednesday.

The ongoing Israeli offensive has caused immense suffering to the Palestinian population, especially in the Gaza Strip, with the death toll, especially among innocent children and health workers, growing over time.

Earlier, Israel warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes on Thursday night, targeting civilian homes in Gaza City, Khan Yunis, and Rafah. Dozens of civilians were tragically killed, including children, and many were injured.

WAFA correspondents on the ground said six civilians were killed when Israeli aircraft bombed houses near the University College in the Tel Al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City.

Five other Palestinians were also killed in an airstrike on a house belonging to the Al-Masri family in Rafah, located south of the Gaza Strip.

In addition, Israeli airstrikes hit an apartment in the Al-Sinwar building in Khan Yunis, resulting in deaths and injuries among the Palestinian civilian population.

The immediate aftermath of these Israeli airstrikes was marked by shock and grief, with many families mourning the loss of their loved ones and the injured.

Tensions in the Middle East escalated after Israeli forces launched a massive military offensive in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for Hamas military attacks on Israeli territory.

The conflict began when Hamas launched Operation Aqsa Flood against Israel, which was a surprise attack from multiple directions, firing rockets and infiltrating Israel by land, sea, and air.

Hamas called the attacks retaliation for the storming of the Al Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem and violence against Palestinians by Israeli settlers.

In response to the Hamas attacks, the Israeli military launched Operation Iron Sword in the Gaza Strip and imposed a total blockade on Gaza that included blocking access to food, water, fuel oil, and electricity.
