Jakarta – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially closed the 43rd ASEAN Summit at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Thursday.
During the three-day event, there were some results produced in 12 ASEAN Summit meetings.
"The 43rd ASEAN Summit has been held and produced 90 outcome documents and several concrete opportunities with partners," the Head of State said on Thursday.
During the meeting, the Head of State captured the optimism and positive energy of all state leaders and invitees who attended the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta.
The President conveyed this strengthens hope and enthusiasm to continue the struggle, realizing a peaceful region, a stable region, and a prosperous region.
"Let us strengthen the Indo Pacific region as a theater of peace and inclusiveness, this is the main foundation that will lead ASEAN to a better future for its people and for the world," the President remarked.
According to him, this is the essence built by the Indonesian Chairmanship to make ASEAN a center of growth.
However, President Widodo said that the task is not yet finished and the important work of ASEAN cannot be completed in just one chairmanship.
"We will continue to face various dynamics and connectivity of global challenges. For that, we must help each other to turn challenges into opportunities, turn competition into collaboration, turn exclusivity into inclusiveness, and turn differences into unity. We must be the captain of our own ship," the President concluded.
