A New Era of Orthopedic Care
Jakarta – CGBio recently successfully hosted a global seminar themed 'Meet the Experts,' aimed at expanding the knowledge of orthopedic professionals in Indonesia. The event took place from August 12th to 15th, 2023, across three major cities in Indonesia: Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bali.
The seminar followed a format that divided the topic of bone grafting and replacement into subtopics of spinal bone and trauma.
Drawing the participation of over 115 orthopedic specialists from all over Indonesia, the event provided a platform for medical professionals to delve deeper into their understanding of bone replacement, focusing on the use of bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2).
Led by Professor Jong-Keon Oh from Korea University Guro Hospital, the seminar discussed how the use of rhBMP-2 with a carrier known as HA (Hydroxyapatite) has revolutionized the approach to orthopedic trauma.
"rhBMP-2, as the most effective bone growth factor available today, can expedite the recovery process in surgeries for pelvic fractures and non-unions," clarified Professor Oh.
A major highlight of the seminar was the introduction of a new product called 'NOVOSIS,' a bone substitute developed by CGBio.
Professor Ismail Hadisoebroto Dilogo from Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital expressed, "NOVOSIS features a supporting structure and growth factor, crucial for bone fusion."
Furthermore, Professor Jong-Keon Oh emphasized that NOVOSIS employs hydroxyapatite as a carrier, providing higher stability and efficiency in the bone regeneration process.
Hyun-Seung Yu, Chief Executive of CGBio, underscored the significance of the seminar, stating, "We are committed to organizing more 'Meet the Experts' sessions, enthusiastically gathering input from experts, and continuing to lead advancements in the field of orthopedic trauma care, ranging from bone defects to complex fractures."
CGBio's 'Meet the Experts' seminar has emerged as a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and innovation in bone replacement, fostering collaboration among medical professionals, and promoting an enhanced quality of life for patients in Indonesia.
