Electrified All Mini Models to Present in Indonesia Gradually

Jakarta – The automotive brand from England, Mini – part of BMW Group Indonesia, has launched a fully electric vehicle in Indonesia by 2022, called Mini Electric. This is in line with the government's efforts to accelerate the electrification process in Indonesia.
According to Jodie O'Tania as Director of Communications of BMW Group Indonesia, Mini will focus on electric vehicle. Therefore, it will plan to make all Mini car models use electric-based technology.
"Mini's focus is Mini Electric. In the future, there will be other electric vehicle models from Mini. Next year we will introduce another electric Mini model. But certainly all Mini models in the future will have electric variants," Jodie O'Tania said at the Grand Opening of MINI Eurokars Studio, at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2, North Jakarta, on Wednesday.
However, according to O'Tania, the process towards full electric for all Mini vehicles will be done gradually.
"It will be done gradually, certain models first and then gradually. Later, this will provide an electric vehicle option in all models,” she said.
As information, there are several Mini variants sold in Indonesia, including 3 Door, 5 Door, Convertible, Clubman, Countryman. For the electric, Mini is only available in the 3 Door model.
Furthermore, O'Tania said that another electric Mini model will present in Indonesia in next year.
