Finance Ministry Spends IDR 37.4 Trillion for 2024 General Election

Jakarta – The Indonesian Ministry of Finance in supporting the implementation of the 2024 General Election has spent of IDR 37.4 trillion for election budget.
The Director General of Budget of the Ministry of Finance, Isa Rachmatarwata, said that the budget provided by his party was certainly sufficient to support election activities.
"The 2024 election budget is around IDR 37.4 trillion," Rachmatarwata said at Hotel Mulia, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Rachmatarwata remarked that for the election budget allocation in 2024 will be allocated to the General Election Commission (KPU) to the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).

The 2024 election budget allocation of IDR 37.4 trillion does not include the second round, "Not for the second round, even if it happens, it is still reserved in the state general treasury," Rachmatarwata explained.
As known, in 2024, the Government will hold simultaneous elections, one of which is to elect the next president to replace Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
The government also estimates that the 2024 election agenda has the potential to drive the economy in various regions. The 2023 elections also have the potential to support economic performance both through increased government consumption and household consumption.
