Manpower Ministry Discusses Three Priority Issues at India G20 EWG

India – The Indonesian Ministry of Manpower attended the 4th G20 Employment Working Group (EWG) Meeting. This meeting is the final meeting of the G20 employment working group under the 2023 Indian Presidency.

"We started the first session of the final Employment Working Group meeting of the G20 Indian Presidency," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower who is also the Head of Delegation (HoD) of Indonesia as well as Co-Chair, Anwar Sanusi in Indore, India on Wednesday. 

Sanusi said this meeting continued the discussion and finalization of the draft Ministerial declaration and the outcome document of the three priority issues of the Indian Presidency of the G20 EWG.

The three priority issues are Addressing the Global Skills Gap; Adequate social protection and decent working conditions for workers in the gig and platform economy; and Sustainable Financing for Adequate Social Protection for all.

According to him, the discussion of the first issue is very important because it has happened everywhere, "This era of digitalization began to be widely used when there was generation Z," 

He revealed, in the first to third stages of the Employment Working Group, his party had conveyed several best practices, especially practices that had been organized by G20 countries and also G20 partners.

As for the second issue, it is an issue that has been discussed since the Indonesian Presidency. According to him, this issue is very interesting because its existence is to protect employees. 

"The question is, what happens when a lot of work is done digitally? This is what we discussed,"

Furthermore, Sanusi hopes that the three priority issues can be discussed well and can be completed on time.
