Jakarta – President Director and Chief Executive Officer of PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) Anindya Novyan Bakrie predicted that Indonesia will play a significant role in the electric vehicle (EV) industry in the world.

In fact, according to him, Indonesia will also become the center of the EV ecosystem, as a balance for Eastern and Western countries.

Bakrie stated that Indonesia has a lot of natural resources in the ground such as nickel, copper, and zinc. So, with this wealth, Indonesia will play an important role in EVs as a global supply chain and industrial revolution.

"Indonesia will also become the center of the EV ecosystem that will be able to balance Eastern and Western countries, and ensure smooth supply," Anindya Bakrie said on his Instagram @anindyabakrie on Monday.

Indonesia is expected to soon have a role as a counterweight to the electric car ecosystem in Western countries, he added.

Therefore, Indonesia will be in a good position. For not only balancing the supply chain. However, it also brings prosperity to the community.

"Because there will be a green industrial revolution, and I think it can happen,"

Bakrie, who is also the President Commissioner of PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR), continued, his company is currently also a pioneer of electric vehicle mobility in Indonesia.

"We started with public transportation with buses. We have 200,000 buses in Indonesia, as a market and 10,000 in Jakarta alone, which is bigger than London. So in Indonesia, this is also an electrification story that will help not only the environment but also health," he explained.
