Singapore Open 2023: Anthony Ginting Successfully Defends His Title

VIVA – The Indonesian men's singles player, Anthony Ginting, successfully became the champion of the Singapore Open 2023 after defeating Anders Antonsen in the final. This victory also gives a chance to defend his title.
Ginting managed to defend his championship title in the BWF Super 750 tournament. It is known that the Singapore Open 2022 was the first moment for Ginting to claim his title when he defeated Kodai Naraoka last year.
Furthermore, in the match held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Sunday, June 11, 2023, Ginting won in straight sets with scores of 21-16, 21-13.
Ginting took an early lead in the first set. A half smash shot crossed to Ginting's right side, giving Antonsen a 4-2 advantage. Ginting continued to lead and was ahead 11-6.
After the interval, Ginting managed to maintain an 18-15 lead. With a jumping smash from Antonsen's weak return, Ginting secured match point at 20-16. Ginting won the first set 21-16.
He started the second set well. Meanwhile, Antonsen began making a lot of unforced errors.
After leading 11-6 at the interval, Ginting continued to dominate. Ginting won five consecutive points to take a 19-8 lead. In the end, Ginting emerged victorious with a score of 21-13 after Antonsen's shot got stuck in the net.
