The World's Largest Emirates Commercial Flight Has Landed in Bali

VIVA – The world's largest commercial airplane, an Airbus A380-800 owned by Emirates airlines, landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali on Thursday evening local time. The largest commercial aircraft in the world carries 482 passengers.

Inaugural Flight or the first flight of this super jumb aircraft as well as marking regular commercial flights on the Dubai-Bali-Dubai route, operated by Emirates.

Angkasa Pura I President Director, Faik Fahmi, explained that the Airbus A380-800 will replace the Boeing 777-300ER for the Dubai-Bali-Dubai route that has been operated previously.

"Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is officially one of 53 airports in the world that serves regular commercial flights of the Airbus A380 operated by Emirates," Faik Fahmi said when welcoming the inaugural flight of the Airbus A380-800, on Thursday.

Emirates Country Manager for Indonesia, Mohammad Al Attar, added that flights to Denpasar will make a significant contribution in serving increased customer demand.

"This flight will strengthen our operations in Indonesia, as well as future commercial plans for the Indonesian market," Al Attar said. 

Upon touching down at I Gusti Ngurah Rai airport, the giant jet double decker aircraft was greeted with a water salute procession.

Disembarking passengers received a festive welcome in the form of flower garlands from a number of VIP guests and Balinese welcome dances.

For the landing of the large aircraft, a number of other commercial flights at I Gusti Ngurah Rai airport were delayed.

Meanwhile, passengers carried on the Dubai-Denpasar route consisted of first class 8 passengers, business 47 passengers and economy 423 passengers.

Then, the Denpasar-Dubai route, the number of passengers carried consists of first class 9 passengers, business 43 passengers and economy 430 passengers.
