Minister Targets Indonesia to Win Title of 2023 ASEAN Para Games

VIVA – Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo on Monday released the Indonesian contingent to fight at the 2023 ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia.
He targets Indonesia to win title in the sports match for athletes with disabilities in the Southeast Asian region.
Hundreds of Indonesian National Paralympic Committee (NPC) athletes who will compete in the 2023 ASEAN Para Games gathered at Solo City Hall to attend the inauguration of the Indonesian contingent at the 2023 ASEAN Para Games.
In his remarks, Minister Dito Ariotedjo said that the current strength of the Indonesian contingent was the best composition to be sent to the XII ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia.
According to him, the Indonesian contingent will participate in 12 sports from a total of 14 sports competed in the ASEAN Para Games.
"Several athletes who followed as many as 268 athletes accompanied by managers, coaches, assistant coaches, and officials as many as 154 people. As well as the support of the headquarter team and sports personnel consisting of doctors, paramedics, and others as many as 78 people with a total contingent of 500 people," he said at Solo City Hall, on Monday.
Furthermore, the Minister stated that Indonesia is targeted to win as many as 121 gold medals, 90 silver medals, and 87 bronze medals. The target number beats the Indonesian contingent at the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games which reached 599 by obtaining 87 gold medals.
"We, the Ministry of Youth and Sports together with NCP Indonesia and all levels of Indonesian society, support the struggle of the Indonesian contingent at the XII ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia," Minister Ariotedjo remarked.
Meanwhile, Chie de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian Contingent for the 2023 Cambodia ASEAN Para Games, Andi Herman said Indonesia sent 268 athletes by participating in 12 sports.
The sports that were followed included paralytics, badminton, table tennis, swimming, weight lifting, boccia, blind judo, maracatu, sitting volleyball, CP football, goalball, and wheelchair basketball.
"So realistically and at the same time as the motivation of the athletes, Indonesia is set to win the overall champion of the ASEAN Para Games XII 2023 Year 2023 in Cambodia," Herman said.
